2015 Compétition presentation : “URN”
A contest for artists from all the world is open for subscription,
starting the 1st October 2014
The deadline is February 28th 2015
The inscription fee is 30€
The subject is really open to interpretations and can include urns that are not “funerary”
The purpose is to realise an original and unique piece, but with the usual carateristics of an urn.
For logistics reasons the maximum dimensions are 30cm x 30 cm x 30cm
There aren’t minimal dimensions so you could send us urns for a goldfish or a spider , if so you wish !
A selection comitee will gather to choose the pieces that will participate in the competition.
The results will be communicated to the participants Mars 31th and the pieces selected will be available to shipped starting that date until the deadline, june 15th.
The jury, for the awarding of the prizes will be choosen from the protagonists of Contemporary Art (Artists – Critics – art historians – gallerists) but also from institutional environment.
An exhibition of the pieces will be held at the C k’OMSA Gallery ( exhibition venue of our art center ), in july and august 2015, which will permit a public vote.
An opening at the begining of the exhibition will be held on June the 27th, and an award ceremony on August the 29th.
Prizes
- 1st Prize : 500€ + 1 residency of one month in our studio + the direction a paid workshop + a personal exhibition ( one month ) in 2016
- 2nd Prize : 350€ + 1 month residency + a personal exhibition ( one month ) in 2016
- 3rd Prize : 250€ + a personal exhibition ( one month ) in 2016
- « Public » Special prize : One Masterclass workshop of your choice in 2016
Pierre Digan, ceramist, sculptor, multidisciplinary artist has published quite a number of books on ceramic.He would like to end this series of books by « l’Art Céramique Funéraire » as a logic result of his works.
Only the pieces of funerary nature, selected for the competition, will be kept for his last book.
A book signing will be held at the opening ceremony.
