Alison Hatfield Young utilizes a Colonial blue-and-white aesthetic, to create satirical illustrations citing brands and advertisements on ceramic tiles.

For her solo exhibition Mass Influence, she creates an altar for media and advertising culture.

During each night of the exhibition, she invites the public to participate in a ritual, equivalent to prayer and communion held at Mass.

Revelations from the all-powerful Advertising and Media Machine are spread by the the word of the prophetic oracle: the Television.

The ritual will symbolically reaffirm our faith in Advertising and Media Machine and how we allow it to influence the course of our daily life under the guise of entertainment.
