“Experimental molding with soft materials”
François Ruegg is a Swiss ceramic artist.
For over 30 years, he exhibited his works all over the world and has been selected and has received many awards in various international competitions.
Since 1980, he is member of the Swiss Association of Ceramics (ACS – ASK) and since 1994, a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (AIC – IAC).
He enjoys working on “plastic” material shaping , folded and packaged shapes, crushed plastic… The visual effect is great, it is an impressively realistic but sometimes leaves the object “as a suggestion” and this element of mystery creates an intense emotion.
The course will focus on the development of molds from prepared shapes so as to create this pleated or crushed effect .
The production of pieces will require the creation of dies and molds in several parts, for casting in various positions.
The purpose of this course is not to learn the perfect technique of utility function molding but rather to create molds from a small and simple drawing to a finished specific project in plaster.
The molds are used for casting pieces. We will bisque this works. We will work with earthernware slip.
You will take your own pieces but molds will remain the property of the center.
The one-day workshop will address the molding technique after model development.
Workshop cost :
– 5 days 480€
– 1 day 85€
